Susie Davies-Splitter

About Susie

Susie Davies-Splitter (M.Ed) is a dynamic music educator at Le Page Primary School in Melbourne, where she directs an F-6 music and performing arts program, choir, and band. A celebrated musician and award-winning composer, she is also an accredited ANCOS (Australian National Council of Orff Schulwerk) trainer and twice past President of VOSA (Victorian Orff Schulwerk Association).

Together with her husband Phil, Susie co-founded ‘Welcome to Music,’ a global enterprise providing innovative programs and resources for early childhood and primary education. She collaborates with Audrey Klein on the ‘Take Orff with…’ webinar series and hosts the bi-weekly Welcome to Music podcast and blog.

The ‘Welcome to Music’ series, known for its engaging and award-winning collection of original, traditional, jazz, and world music songs, includes activities, teacher books, ukulele and recorder programs, musicals, storybooks, and choral arrangements. This series is widely enjoyed by teachers, parents, and children across Australia and worldwide.

Susie’s vision is to simplify and enrich music education, fostering creativity and joy in children through music. She has composed hundreds of songs that are fun, humorous, and inspiring, always keeping the child’s experience at the heart of her work.

Alice Csabi

About Alice

Alice Csabi is a dynamic and inclusive Performing Arts Teacher.

Alice has spent years working as a Classroom, Instrumental and Performing Arts Teacher across multiple settings within Victoria and the remote Northern Territory. She discovered Orff-Schulwerk as part of her university degree, and upon returning to Victoria from the territory, she joined the VOSA committee. Since then, she has attended various professional development sessions across Australia – most recently Doug Goodkin’s Jazz Course in NSW.

She has always had a passion for incorporating Indigenous perspectives within the classroom and strives to ensure that it is done in a respectful and culturally appropriate manner. Alice worked closely with elders in Lajamanu and Ampilatwatja and is currently the Marrung Lead at Kallista Primary School.

Kallista Primary School is currently collaborating with Murrundindi the Ngurungaeta (Head Man) and Elder of the Wurundjeri tribe as well as his son Pallyan, to implement a Wurundjeri/Woi Wurrung Language Program within the school. With permission, Alice reinforces the teaching of language through Orff-inspired Performing Arts lessons incorporating Music, Dance and Drama.

Alice believes that every child should have access to a rich music and movement program that encourages students to embrace their uniqueness and develops their confidence and creativity. Her skills and knowledge within the Inclusive Education space allows her to successfully support all students to engage and access The Arts. Additionally, Alice volunteers her time as the Musical Director for Whitehorse Showtime – a Scout and Guide Musical experience.

Andy Stewart

About Andy

Andy grew up in Zimbabwe and spent several years working as a classroom teacher both in Zimbabwe and Botswana. Being a musician herself, she had always understood the benefits that music education afforded the students in her class and yearned to further her studies in Music.
Andy, made her way to Perth in 2008 with her young family, where her journey into the world of Orff pedagogy began unexpectedly at a one-day professional development event. Captivated by its principles, she swiftly immersed herself in the field, eventually becoming a member of the Western Australian Orff Schulwerk Association (WAOSA) committee. Serving initially as the Orff West Editor, and in various other executive roles, she is currently the WAOSA President.

Driven by her passion for music education and movement, Andy pursued further professional development, completing her Orff Levels and undertaking David Spurgeon’s acclaimed Dance course in Sydney. Her enthusiasm for dance and creative movement and devotion to music advocacy in our schools, have led her to become a passionate presenter at numerous WAOSA workshops, where she shares her insights and experiences with fellow educators.

Currently, Andy serves as the Junior School Music Coordinator at Iona Presentation College, where she enjoys shaping the musical education of young learners. Additionally, she contributes to the academic community as a sessional lecturer in Music at Notre Dame University, where she imparts her knowledge in the realm of general education.

Marcus Perrozzi

About Marcus

Marcus Perrozzi is versatile, creative and passionate about Music and has a lifetime of achievement in the performing arts – locally, nationally and on the international stage.

As a percussionist, he was performer and coach for the internationally acclaimed world arena tour of Dralion by Cirque du Soleil. He’s toured Australia and abroad as performer and educator in Tetrafide Percussion, including Musica Viva In Schools (Australia and Singapore) and Country Arts WA programs. He has represented the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, including a tour of Vietnam, the 29th ISME World Conference Beijing and Shanghai World Expo in 2010.

Now based in Perth, Marcus successfully attained his Level 3 Classroom Teacher status with the WA Department of Education, and is currently Program Coordinator (Percussion/Drum Kit) with Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS).

His 20-year engagement in the local education sector spans across primary, secondary and tertiary levels. He is a sessional lecturer and examiner for the Classical Music Department at the WA Academy of Performing Arts, Edith Cowan University.

As an award-winning WAAPA graduate, Marcus is regularly in demand as a performer and educator across a wide range of styles, often presenting workshops to local organisations including ASME (WA), WAOSA, WAYO, WAAPA and UWA. He is also a foundation committee member for the ON STAGE Performing Arts Competitions.

Marcus is committed to sharing his skills and love for the performing arts with students and audiences of all ages and walks of life, through performance, creation and education.
