About Hannah

Hannah Trewartha is a passionate Music educator who is currently based in remote WA. 2025 is bringing new and unknown musical adventures. She moved to Broome to start the Broome North Primary School classroom music program in 2021 and in 2022 began the Broome Brass Band program which currently has 40 students learning brass across the four public primary and the high schools of Broome.

Before Broome, Hannah was based in Victoria and was an active member of the community music scene, coordinating the Darebin City Brass Youth programs as well as playing the trombone for their A Grade band. She has conducted many school ensembles in her 20 years of teaching, has been a guest conductor at Bendigo Instrumental Music Program annual camps and is the conductor of the beginner band at Border Music Camp annually.

Hannah has worked to be a well-rounded educator by undertaking Kodaly Levels, completing her Orff level and completing her Master of Education – Leadership and The Arts.

Are the Instruments Slowing Down the Learning?

Are you a band conductor? Do you ever wonder how you can help your students learn the notes faster? This session will look at a few ways to think about band through an Orff approach. Maybe the learning can happen faster away from the instruments. It is okay to put the instruments down and try band in a different way.
