About Susie

Susie Davies-Splitter (M.Ed) is a dynamic music educator at Le Page Primary School in Melbourne, where she directs an F-6 music and performing arts program, choir, and band. A celebrated musician and award-winning composer, she is also an accredited ANCOS (Australian National Council of Orff Schulwerk) trainer and twice past President of VOSA (Victorian Orff Schulwerk Association).

Together with her husband Phil, Susie co-founded ‘Welcome to Music,’ a global enterprise providing innovative programs and resources for early childhood and primary education. She collaborates with Audrey Klein on the ‘Take Orff with…’ webinar series and hosts the bi-weekly Welcome to Music podcast and blog.

The ‘Welcome to Music’ series, known for its engaging and award-winning collection of original, traditional, jazz, and world music songs, includes activities, teacher books, ukulele and recorder programs, musicals, storybooks, and choral arrangements. This series is widely enjoyed by teachers, parents, and children across Australia and worldwide.

Susie’s vision is to simplify and enrich music education, fostering creativity and joy in children through music. She has composed hundreds of songs that are fun, humorous, and inspiring, always keeping the child’s experience at the heart of her work.

Jam, Jive and Improvise

Utilise ‘Orff’ principles to inspire, excite, and motivate children to remember, understand and love music. Have your children jumping for joy with material that inspires them to sing, play instruments, move, dance, listen and participate in active and enjoyable music making that is easy, appealing and immediately accessible. BYO recorder, ukulele and any other portable instruments to participate in a fabulous jam.

The Orff Orchestra

Beginning with the body and voice, join us in a celebration of the Orff instruments as we play, improvise, create arrangements and perform for each other. This session will include singing, moving, body percussion, non-melodic, melodic percussion instruments and recorders. Suitable for 8-14 years

Sing Me a Story

Story songs will be shared that invite young children (3-8 years) to engage in a multi-sensory experience of listening, reading, singing, moving, and playing instruments where each story sparks imagination and invites participation.<br /> From the whimsical adventures of 'The 3 Little Pigs Rap' to the echo singing in ‘Down By the Bay’ and ‘Oh in the Woods’, each story song integrates literacy skills such as pre-reading, reading, writing, and spelling into each enchanting tale, while also nurturing creativity, self-esteem, and confidence in every child.

Time to Sing

Join in with heartfelt songs that are uplifting, energising and inspiring to take away and use immediately with your students. Susie will share original songs, rounds, folk, pop, jazz and multi-cultural repertoire. Incorporate movement, actions, solfa, handsigns, AUSLAN signs and simple percussion instrument accompaniments adding to your choral and classroom singing repertoire. Discover the joy of music through your voice – songs suitable for all ages.
