About Tina

Tina began teaching music in Secondary schools, and in the last 13 years has worked as a Primary Classroom Music Specialist at Pine Community School, a play-based, democratic, community school on the northside of Brisbane. Tina is now living in Fremantle, WA, and working at Bannister Creek Primary School.

Tina discovered the Orff approach when she enrolled in Level One in 2010. It gloriously fulfilled her need to connect core values and intentions in a learner-centred, playful, classroom space with practical, joyful, music-making activity and movement.

Completing all four levels of the Orff Schulwerk Teacher Training Courses has greatly supported her ability to facilitate joyful, inclusive and collaborative music-making spaces with people of all ages. Tina has facilitated participatory music spaces in the broader school community, at various National and International education conferences, and also a women’s community choir in Brisbane for many years.

Tina began regularly presenting for QOSA in 2021 initially under the mentorship of Nikki Cox. She is passionate about creating opportunities for the creative and playful Orff-Schulwerk approach to be accessible and experienced by all.

To this end, Tina joined the QOSA committee in 2019 and served as Vice-President in 2022 – 2023 until her move to WA.

Tina has begun her journey toward Levels presenting under the mentorship of Bethany Ellen and Christoph Maubach in Brisbane in 2022.

It is her absolute delight to share in the music creating at PINNACLE 2025.
